Girls in Football Scholarship

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist female high school seniors participating in a form of football (touch, flag, tackle, etc.) who plan to continue their education in college.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Eligibility
Applicants to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation Girls in Football Scholarship must:

  • Be female high school seniors participating in a form of football (touch, flag, tackle, etc).
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
  • Plan to use their college education/experience to make an impact in the sports industry.
  • Write an essay (500 words or less) outlining how they will use their career choice to make a positive impact in the sports industry.

Award
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to four (4) awards will be granted. Awards are one-time only. Past recipients may not reapply.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification
Applicants will be notified in July. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation, Inc. Payment is made in one installment in early August.

Selection of Finalists and Recipients
Scholarship America will select finalists on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.

From the list of finalists, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers Foundation, Inc. will select recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than April 26, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.

Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
