The BASF Scholarship Program recognizes and rewards academically talented children of BASF Corporation employees. The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest administrator of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals – in collaboration with National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC).Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards are granted based on academic success and demonstrated achievement, and without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the BASF Scholarship Program must be:
Students are eligible to receive only one scholarship award (either through the program administered by Scholarship America or National Merit).
(*Dependent children are defined as biological, stepchildren or legally adopted children living in the employee’s household, or primarily supported by the employee, or granted court-assigned guardianship or custody and for whom the employee provides primary financial support.)
Sponsor will offer a total of 20 scholarships through the National Merit Program and through this program. Students are eligible to receive only one scholarship award (either through the Program administered by Scholarship America or National Merit).
The Scholarship covers up to four years of undergraduate study or completion of baccalaureate degree requirements, whichever occurs first. All National Merit Scholarships and Scholarships Awarded by Scholarship America may be used at 2-year institutions, i.e. community colleges, for up to 2 years of full-time undergraduate college attendance. After receiving the first 2 years of assistance, the student must transfer to a 4-year institution in order to receive the remaining payments. Included in the Terms of the Scholarship that students must agree to when accepting the award.
You must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student to be eligible for scholarship payments. You may receive scholarship payments for full-time enrollment at a two-year college only during the first two years of undergraduate study.
Awards are $3,000, renewable up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance and full-time enrollment at a four-year college or university.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Annual renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in full-time study and continuation of the program by BASF Corporation.
Notification
Applicants will be notified in May. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America will process the award in one installment in mid-August. The check will be payable to your school for your account and mailed to your permanent home address. You must present the check to the school to be endorsed and processed. Your scholarship may adjust accordingly if you are enrolled for a partial year.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of BASF Corporation play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Revisions
BASF Corporation reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.
