The Toro Company has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the The Toro Company Scholarship Program must be:
*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $1,000 to $4,000.
Financial need will be considered in determining the size of the award. However, qualified students demonstrating no financial need and qualified students, who are dependents of employees who are at the Senior Manager level or above, are eligible for one‑time honorariums at the minimum level in recognition of achievement.
Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in a full-time course of study, continued employment, or the retirement of, the student’s parent at The Toro Company, and continuation of the program.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
A student may receive only one award from any scholarship affiliated with The Toro Company.
Applicants will be notified in April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of The Toro Company. Payments are made in one installment in early August. Award payments to international students will be issued by wire transfer in September.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
Financial need will be considered. Once scholarship recipients are selected, financial data is reviewed to determine the amount of each award, ranging from $1,000 to $4,000. Recipients must demonstrate financial need to receive a need-based award. Recipients demonstrating no financial need, or dependents of TTC employees at the Senior Manager level or above, are eligible for an honorarium award at the minimum level of $1,000. Students who have received an honorarium may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of The Toro Company play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
The Toro Company reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.
