Assurant Cares Scholarship Program
Live application window: January 27, 2025 through February 24, 2025 3:00 pm CT

Assurant is a leading global business services company that supports, protects, and connects major consumer purchases. We are a purpose-driven company, and our social responsibilities extend well beyond our protection products and services. Investing in our people and communities is reflected in our values and our culture.

In honor of Kunal Malhotra, an Assurant senior leader who passed in 2023, the Assurant Foundation has established a scholarship program in partnership with Scholarship America to assist children of Assurant employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational schools. The Assurant Cares Scholarship Program aims to encourage and prepare diverse talent and innovative leaders for the future by supporting the educational aspirations of the next generation.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for the program is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, Assurant, and eligible applications are reviewed and approved by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Election of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Assurant play a part in the selection.

Applicants to the Assurant Cares Scholarship Program must:

  • Be dependent children, age 26 and under, of full-time Assurant, Inc. (“Assurant”) employees in the United States (U.S.) who have a minimum of one year of employment with Assurant as of the application deadline and are employees in grade levels 1-9. Award recipients of the Assurant Cares Scholarship are not subject to this employment eligibility requirement.
*Dependent children are children who qualify for benefits provided by Assurant.
  • Be high school seniors, graduates, or current college undergraduates.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to five (5) awards will be granted.

Awards are one-time only. Past recipients may not reapply.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Awards are for qualified education-related expenses only (tuition, fees, books, and required supplies/equipment). Awards amounts may be adjusted if award exceeds the cost of qualified education-related expenses.
