The Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. has established a competitive scholarship program to recognize the importance of education and to provide support to employees’ children who plan to continue their education at a college, university, or vocational-technical school.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
*Dependent children, age 26 or under, are defined as natural or legally adopted children or dependent stepchildren primarily supported by the employee.
The student is the applicant. Application information, including contact information, should be that of the student unless otherwise noted.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
Financial information, including parental income range, number of dependents in household and the number of dependents attending postsecondary institutions, will also be considered when determining recipients.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of The Hanover Insurance Group, Inc. or Citizens Insurance play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Awards are not renewable; however, past recipients may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Awards are for undergraduate study only. The program will fund multiple scholarships, ranging in value from $1,000 to $1,500.
The selection process will not be influenced or affected by the actual or perceived race, religion, color, national origin, ancestry, disability, age, gender, or sexual orientation of any applicant.
Notification of recipients is sent via email in April. Nonrecipients are notified by email. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of The Hanover Insurance Group Foundation.
Payments are made in one installment in mid-July.
