Northrop Grumman Corporation has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors from sponsoring locations who plan to continue their education in an engineering program at a four-year college or university school of engineering. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited four-year college or university in an approved engineering, computer science, mathematics, or physics program.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.
Eligibility
Applicants to the Northrop Grumman Engineering Scholars Program must:
Recipients of any other Northrop Grumman scholarship are ineligible.
Award
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,000 award. Up to 29 awards will be granted.
Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in a full-time course of study at an accredited four-year college or university. Recipients must continue to be enrolled in an approved engineering, computer science, mathematics or physics program.
In addition, recipients must accept internship opportunities, if they are available, and are offered, to remain eligible for scholarship renewal.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Selection Process
All applications will be assessed for eligibility and completeness. Scholarship America will evaluate applicants on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, and work experience.
Based upon the evaluation by Scholarship America, semi-finalists will be selected by Northrop Grumman Mission Systems. Northrop Grumman Mission Systems will review essay responses and the three (3) Letters of Recommendation for semi-finalists and select recipients. Recipients will be selected from each geographic location.
Financial need is not considered.
Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Notification
Applicants will be notified in June.
Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Northrop Grumman Corporation. Payment is made in August.
