The Brink's Company Scholarship Program

As today’s students enter our workforce, they are facing new challenges and opportunities never before imaginable. At The Brink’s Company, we recognize the contributions of these students and the important role that education plays in their development. We believe that education is the key to success. The Brink’s Company Scholarship Program gives an opportunity to invest in the education of employees and their children. As our employees and children grow and use their knowledge to continually improve our society, it is easy to see that this is a wise investment.

The Brink’s Company Scholarship Program is funded by The Brink’s Company and is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Brink’s Company Scholarship Program award must be:

  • Dependent* children, up to age 26, of full time U.S. employees of The Brink’s Company and its subsidiaries who have a minimum of one (1) year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date. Children of part-time employees who have three years of employment and work at least 1,000 hours per year are also eligible.
    *Dependent children are defined as children who qualify for benefits provided by the Company.
  • High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Children of vice presidents and above and officers of The Brink’s Company and subsidiaries are ineligible. Children of employees represented by a collective bargaining agreement are ineligible.

OR

  • Full-time U.S. employees of the Brink’s Company and its subsidiaries who have a minimum of one (1) year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date, and part-time U.S. employees of the Brink’s Company and its subsidiaries who have three years of employment and work at least 1,000 hours per year are also eligible to apply.
  • Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in at least a part-time (at least 6 credit hours per semester) undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

Employees who are vice presidents and above and officers of The Brink’s Company and subsidiaries are ineligible to apply. Employees represented by a collective bargaining agreement are also ineligible.

The student is the applicant. Application information, including contact information, should be that of the student unless otherwise noted. 

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive:

  • Awards will be granted in the amount of $2,500 to full-time employees or the dependents of full-time employees.
  • Awards of $1,250 will be granted to part-time employees or the dependents of part-time employees.
  • Awards are not renewable; however students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
  • Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in mid-March. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of The Brink’s Company. Awards will be paid in early August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of The Brink’s Company play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following documents:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than January 24, 2025 3:00 pm Central Time.
