The A.F. and H.G. McNeely Scholarship Program is underwritten by the McNeely Foundation and is dedicated to encouraging and helping in part to make possible the further education of qualified Meritex Company employees’ children and grandchildren as selected by independent professionals.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $1,000 to $2,600. Award amounts are based on each recipient’s school cost.
The number of awards depends on the number of applicants, so all eligible students are encouraged to apply.
Under Internal Revenue Service regulations, recipients of the McNeely Scholarship Program must be selected impartially, and only one in four applicants may receive an award. In other words, at least four (4) applications are required to award one scholarship.
Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Awards are for undergraduate or graduate study.
Applicants will be notified at the end of March.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
Financial need will not be considered.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of The Meritex Company or the McNeely Foundation play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Payments are made in one installment in mid-July. Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the McNeely Foundation.
