The Grossman Family Foundation offers scholarships for eligible WestRock employees and children of eligible WestRock employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. No one from either the Grossman Family Foundation or WestRock participates in the selection process or has access to applicant information.

If selected as a recipient, students enrolled full-time will receive a Grossman Family Foundation scholarship ranging from $2,500 to $12,500; part-time students will receive $2,000 to $7,500.
*If a recipient is a first generation college student, in addition to the Grossman Family Foundation scholarship, they will also receive a one-time bonus of 25% of their awarded amount.
If not enough qualified applications are received from one group (dependent/employee) then funds may be allocated for the other group.
Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Awards may be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies and equipment required for course load.
The authorized distribution for new awards and the number of awards granted each year will be determined by the funds available and the number of applicants received for the program.
The program will be administered in full compliance with IRS Revenue Procedures 76-47, which states that no more than 25% of eligible dependent applicants and 10% of eligible employee applicants may be selected as recipients.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
Financial need will be the primary factor when determining recipients. Candidates will first be ranked on the basis of calculated family contributions from lowest expected contribution to highest contribution. Recipients will be selected from a pool of qualified applicants with primary consideration given to those who demonstrate the greatest financial need.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Applicants will be notified in mid-June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Grossman Family Foundation. Payments are made in early August.
One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than May 6, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.
