UMB Bank, n.a., as Trustee of the Sue Ann Opler Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist students in the community who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants of the Sue Ann Opler Foundation Scholarship Program must:
Members of the Foundation’s Advisory Board of Trustees, their spouses, any lineal descendants, the spouse of any lineal descendants, or any employee, officer or director of any corporate Trustee or its affiliates or subsidiaries or any spouse or lineal descendant of such persons are ineligible to apply.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $5,000 to $20,000. Up to 25 awards will be granted. Financial need will be considered in determining the award amount. Recipients must demonstrate need.
Awards are renewable up to four years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first.
Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance (maintaining a cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale) and remaining in good standing at their academic institution.
Awards are for undergraduate study only. Awards are to be used for tuition, books and fees first. If funds remain, the institution may apply excess funds to room and board balance.
Applicants will be notified in early April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Sue Ann Opler Foundation. Awards will be paid in one installment in early August.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of the Sue Ann Opler Foundation play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
Also as part of your application, two online recommendation forms must be submitted on your behalf. Not more than one recommendation may be from a high school teacher. Recommendations must be submitted no later than February 19, 2025 3:00 pm Central Time.
