Clif Family Foundation Scholarship Program

The Clif Family Foundation established a scholarship program to assist dependent children of employees of Clif Bar & Company, Clif Bar & Baking Company – Twin Falls, Clif Bar Baking Company – Indianapolis, or Clif Family Winery & Farm who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Please see below for current eligibility requirements.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Clif Family Foundation Scholarship Program must:

  • Be a dependent of an active, full-time Mondelez International, Inc. employee who is a legacy Clif employee and was hired prior to
    August 1, 2022, or a Clif Family Winery & Farm employee who has been with the company for a minimum of 1-year employment as of the application deadline. Dependents for this purpose include the following three groups:

    • Individuals who are enrolled in a medical plan of the employer as a dependent of an employee;
    • Individuals claimed as a dependent on an employee’s federal tax return; and
    • Descendants (biological, adopted or by marriage) of an employee who are part of an employee’s household for federal tax purposes.
  • Be a high school graduate or current postsecondary undergraduate and age 26 or under.
  • Have a cumulative grade-point average of 2.5 or higher at the time of applying.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study* at an accredited two- or four-year college (excluding proprietary and online-only school) or vocational-technical school.

Note: Spouses and life partners of employees are not eligible to participate in this program.

Awards
Up to 10 awards of $10,000 each will be granted annually unless fewer awards are required to administer the program in full compliance with IRS Revenue Procedure 76-47.

Only one (1) award will be granted per family per year.

Preference will be given to new recipients and non-consecutive awardees who meet the eligibility requirements.

Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. (Per IRS Revenue Procedure 76-47, the employment eligibility requirements does not apply to previous recipients.)

Recipients are allowed a maximum of two (2) scholarships per lifetime.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances

Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America. These are factored into the selection in the following manner: 50% financial need, 35% academics and 15% personal data.

Consideration will be given to select a diverse group of recipients.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of the Clif Family Foundation play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification
Applicants will be notified in August. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Clif Family Foundation. Payments are made in one installment in mid-August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

  • Copy of the first two pages of the most recently filed IRS Form 1040 used for the Financial Information section of the application. Please black out SSN.
