The Presidio Future Built Scholarship Award

Presidio has established a scholarship program to assist students pursuing an undergraduate degree in a technology-related field at select four-year colleges.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals.

Applicants to The Presidio Future Built Scholarship Award must:

    • Meet either or both of the following two criteria:
      1. Self-identify as a racial or ethnic minority

AND/OR

      1. Self-identify as female

AND

    • Be current college undergraduates majoring in a technology-related field (examples include: Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Data Science) at one of the following four-year colleges or universities:
  • California Baptist University
  • Central Connecticut State University
  • Coppin State University
  • Eastern Carolina University
  • Florida A&M University
  • Florida Atlantic University
  • George Mason University
  • Miami Dade College
  • Oklahoma State University
  • Purdue University
  • St. Johns University
  • University of Arkansas
  • University of California: San Diego
  • University of Central Florida
  • University of Virginia
  • University System of Georgia: Georgia Tech
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at one of the eligible colleges or universities listed above for the entire upcoming academic year
  • Have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale (or equivalent)
  • Have previously volunteered in their community

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship finalists are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities (including volunteer experience)
  • Work experience
  • Statement of goals and aspirations
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation from a professor or current or previous work or volunteer supervisor

Financial need will be highly considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.

Selection of finalists is made by Scholarship America. Two (2) finalists will be selected per eligible college or university, with the exception of the University of Arkansas, from which eight (8) finalists will be selected. A selection committee, made up of executives from Presidio and each college/university will select the award recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $10,000 award. Up to nineteen (19) awards will be granted. One (1) recipient will be selected per eligible college or university, with the exception of the University of Arkansas, from which four (4) recipients will be selected.

Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in April.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Presidio. Payment will be made in July.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • A copy of the first two pages of the most recently filed IRS Form 1040 which was used to complete the Financial Information section. Block out all social security numbers. Submit a note of explanation if an IRS Form 1040 was not filed.

Also, one online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than February 19, 2025 3:00 pm CT.
