Equitable Family Scholarship Program

The Equitable Family Scholarship Program is exclusively for the children and grandchildren of Equitable employees and financial professionals. The program is open to graduating high school seniors, or current college undergraduates, who are planning to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Equitable Family Scholarship Program must be:

  • Children who are legal dependents* of full-time employees or Group I part-time employees of Equitable as of the application deadline or financial professionals of Equitable Advisors, LLC who qualify as Production Club Members for 2024 as of application deadline.
    ▪ Production Club Membership will be determined on a pro rata basis for financial professionals with less than 12 months under contract as a financial professional.

OR

  • Grandchildren of full-time employees or Group I part-time employees of Equitable as of the application deadline or financial professionals of Equitable Advisors, LLC who qualify as Production Club Members for 2024 as of application deadline.

AND

  • High school seniors, high school graduates, or current college undergraduates who plan to enroll no later than Fall in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in the United States or Puerto Rico.

*Dependents are defined as; biological children, stepchildren; adopted children, and legal/court appointed wards.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to twenty (20) awards will be granted.

Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in early spring.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Equitable Foundation. Payment is made in August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of career and educational goals and objectives
  • Academic performance

Financial need will be considered during selection but is not required to receive an award.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Equitable or Equitable Foundation play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
