The Harry G. Story Trust has established a scholarship program to assist students from Morgan County, Illinois, and Scott County, Illinois, who plan to continue their education in eligible undergraduate and graduate degrees.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the Harry G. Story Trust Scholarship Program must meet the following requirements:
Graduate students must be pursuing a Juris Doctor Degree.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $3,000 to $8,000. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon maintaining a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale, or its equivalent, in a full-time course of study and continuation of the program.
Awards are for eligible undergraduate and graduate study only.
All applicants will be notified in April.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Harry G. Story Trust. Payments are made in early August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, will be considered in determining the amount of each award. Preference will be given to applicants with parents whose combined taxable income in each of the two (2) previous years is not more than 125% of the poverty level for Morgan County, Illinois. However, candidates not meeting this criterion may still qualify for assistance.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer of the Harry G. Story Trust play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload an official copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 6, 2025 3:00 pm Central Time.
Your application is not complete unless all required materials are submitted electronically.
