The Families of Freedom Scholarship Fund benefits financially needy dependent children, spouses, and domestic partners of 9/11 victims.
Scholarship assistance is available to eligible students who enroll in an undergraduate program of study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university, or vocational-technical school. Funding for the graduate program will end with the close of the 2020-2021 academic year. Most funds provide scholarship assistance for a maximum of four years or its equivalent, depending on total funding available. Our financial need formula is used to determine award amounts for each eligible student.

Students MUST apply online during the application window (see dates below) or they will not receive funding for that timeframe. Please note all applications will close at 3 CT on the last day.
This option is available to full-time undergraduate students attending school for the entire upcoming academic year.

If you submitted a year application, you will be notified by email of your award in early August. Checks will be mailed to student’s home address in one-installment. Checks are made payable to the school on behalf of the student.
If you submitted a Fall, Spring or Summer application, once the complete application has been submitted, please allow 4-6 weeks for processing. Students will be notified by email of their award. Checks will be mailed to student’s home address in one-installment. Checks are made payable to the school on behalf of the student.
