Tosoh Quartz has established two programs to assist Tosoh Quartz, Inc. employees’ children who plan to continue education at a two-year or four-year college or university. Assistance is offered for study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.
The Tosoh Quartz Education Foundation Scholarship Program is a competitive program. Recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of career and educational goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances and an outside appraisal. Scholarships may be used only for tuition, fees, books, supplies and required equipment for qualifying undergraduate study. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply each year they meet eligibility requirements. The amount and number of awards will be determined each year by the Tosoh Quartz Education Foundation. Applicants who are not selected to receive a Tosoh Quartz Education Foundation Scholarship will receive assistance through the Tosoh Quartz Dependent Education Assistance Program provided all eligibility requirements are met.
The Tosoh Quartz Dependent Education Assistance Program is a non-competitive program. All applicants who meet the eligibility guidelines and do not receive a Tosoh Quartz Education Foundation Scholarship will receive education assistance. Education assistance may be used for tuition, fees, books, supplies and required equipment and room and board for qualifying undergraduate study. The total of funds available for education assistance will be determined yearly by Tosoh Quartz, Inc. Education assistance checks are made payable jointly to the student and the parent employee. Awards are taxable to the parent employee and will be reported as income on the parent’s W-2 for the tax year during which education assistance checks were issued.
This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America®. Scholarship America is the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship and tuition reimbursement programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.
