The Timken Global Scholars Program offers dependent children of global employees the opportunity to pursue their chosen field of study at an accredited trade school, college or university. Scholarship funds can be applied toward the cost of tuition, room and board, books, supplies and/or fees during the academic year. Applications for the 2025 program will be accepted October 1, 2024 – November 26, 2024.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

4College education in Québec is an intermediary type of education between secondary school and the university. Two-year pre-university programs and three-year technical programs are offered by Colleges d’enseignement general et professionnel (colleges/CEGEPs). The Diploma of College Studies (DCS) /Diplome d’études collegiales (DEC) is awarded upon completion of both the two-year and three-year programs, however, the pre-university track of the DCS/DEC is generally required for university entrance. Technical programs usually lead to employment, however, occasionally they can lead to university study.
Children of members of the Board of Directors of The Timken Company, the Executive Officers of The Timken Company, or the trustees and officers of The Timken Company Charitable and Educational Fund, Inc. are ineligible.
Students who receive a non-renewable award may not reapply.

In February 2025, 20 scholarships totaling $225,000 will be awarded including:

Awards are for full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college or university or vocational-technical institution (or equivalent, including CEGEP institutions) for the entire upcoming academic year with the intent of earning a degree.
The awards will be issued in U.S. currency.
International Students Only: final award amount will be determined at payment time based on the student’s submission of their school’s financial aid award letter or cost of enrollment for the year.
All applicants will be notified prior to March 1, 2025.
Scholarship America issues checks on behalf of The Timken Company Charitable and Educational Fund, Inc. for the Timken Global Scholars Program. $10,000 or less and international awards are paid in one installment in August. Awards for U.S. and Canada recipients greater than $10,000 will be paid in two installments in August and December. Awards are to be used for qualified education-related expenses and may not exceed the cost of tuition, fees, books, and required supplies, as defined by the college or university you choose to attend during the academic year. If the college or university requires that you participate in a co-op as part of its degree program, the award will be deferred during the quarters you are working and continue again beginning with the quarter or semester the student resumes full-time enrollment.
Financial need is not considered.
Recipients are selected by an unbiased program administrator, Scholarship America, based on criteria determined by Timken.
