Pentair Scholarship Fund
Live application window: November 25, 2024 through January 27, 2025 3:00 pm Central Time

The Pentair Scholarship Fund assists children of Pentair employees worldwide to pursue postsecondary education in college and vocational programs. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Pentair Scholarship Fund must be:

  • Dependent* children, age 22 and under, of full-time worldwide employees of Pentair, Inc. or one of its subsidiaries who have a minimum of one year of employment with the company as of the application deadline date. Parents must be employed by Pentair at the time the scholarship is awarded. Children of Pentair officers and Pentair subsidiary presidents are ineligible for the scholarship program. Scholarship award recipients from one of Pentair’s individual subsidiaries in any given year are ineligible to apply to the Pentair Scholarship Fund.
  • High school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.

*Dependent children are defined as natural and legally adopted children or stepchildren living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee and/or who qualify for benefits provided by the company.

Awards

Pentair offers two types of scholarship awards:

  • Fund 1: Up to six renewable awards of $2,000 each, regardless of financial need. One of the six non-need awards will be designated for a study-abroad student if one is available. This award can be given to a U.S. or international applicant.
  • Fund 2: Up to six need-based renewable awards of $5,000 each. One of the need-based awards will be designated for a study abroad student. Students must demonstrate need as determined by Scholarship America.

Recipients will represent international locations, if qualified applications are received.

To receive award payment, recipient, and renewal, students’ parents must continue to be employed at Pentair at the time checks are issued.

Awards are renewable up to three years on the basis of satisfactory academic performance, continued parental employment, and continued financial need as determined by Scholarship America. If no need is shown, the award will be adjusted to a $2,000 merit award.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship finalists are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Once scholarship recipients are selected, financial data is reviewed to determine the amount of each award.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Pentair play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Pentair. Payments are made in July.

The award checks will be issued in U.S. currency. If requested, award payments for recipients and renewal students outside the United States and Canada may be made via wire transfer.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in late March. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
