The Gryphon Scholarship Program

Churchill Asset Management has established a scholarship program to assist current high school seniors or individuals who have graduated from a school located in select metropolitan areas (see Eligibility section below) and are planning to pursue full-time undergraduate study at a four-year college or university.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. 

Applicants to The Gryphon Scholarship Program must:

  • Be high school seniors who will be graduating or individuals who have graduated from a school located in the following metropolitan areas:
    • New York City, NY
    • Chicago, IL
    • Charlotte, NC
    • Los Angeles, CA
  • Have demonstrated financial need.
  • Plan to enroll in a full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college, university for the entire upcoming academic year with preference given to Business, Finance, Economics, or Accounting.

Employees’ dependents of Churchill Asset Management are ineligible.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award of at least $2,500 (or more depending on fund availability). Up to five (5) awards will be granted.

Awards are renewable for up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance, maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale, and full-time enrollment.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.

Scholarship America will select 10 finalists and a selection committee will select recipients.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in March.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Churchill Asset Management. Payment is made in early August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  • Your high school transcript of grades must indicate you have, or will be, graduating from a school located in the designated metropolitan areas of: New York City, NY; Chicago, IL; Charlotte, NC; or Los Angeles, CA.

NOTE: If you are a high school senior and providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

  • If you are a current undergraduate, in addition to your high school transcript, a current, complete college transcript of grades is also required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than January 14, 2025 3:00 pm Central Time.
