The Schulien family has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors residing in Fairfax County, Loudoun County, and Prince William County in northern Virginia.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to The Schulien Family Perseverance Scholarship must:
One award of $12,000 will be granted.
The award is renewable up to three (3) years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of maintaining full-time enrollment status and a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of educational and career goals and objectives, overcoming challenges or adversity, and an outside appraisal.
Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any member of the Schulien family play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Applicants will be notified in mid March. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Schulien family. Payments are made in one installment in early August.
