William A. March Education Trust Scholarship
Live application window: November 27, 2024 through January 10, 2025, 3:00 pm CT or when 100 applications have been submitted.

PNC Bank, N.A. offers the William A. March Education Trust Scholarship to assist students who plan to continue their education in college or graduate school.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the William A. March Education Trust Scholarship must:

  • Be high school seniors, graduates, current college undergraduates or graduate level students
  • Plan to enroll in fulltime undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year

PNC employees, their immediate family members, and members of their households are not eligible to apply.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award of up to $5,000.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in March.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of PNC Bank, N.A. Payment is made in August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship America will evaluate all eligible applicants on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Scholarship America will forward all eligible applicants to the sponsor and the Trust Committee will select the recipients. When selecting recipients, the Trust Committee will give preference to applicants in the following order:

  1. Descendants of Ethel M. Jamison
  2. Descendants of Irene D. March
  3. Collateral relatives of William and Irene D. March (preference to next of kin)
  4. Resident of the borough of Norristown, PA and vicinity (Montgomery County)
  5. Resident of Philadelphia area and Southern New Jersey
  6. Any applicant of the general public

Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.  All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than January 15, 2025 3:00 pm Central Time.
