ProHealth Care and Diversity Scholarship Program

ProHealth Care has established a scholarship program to assist students who plan to continue education in college or vocational school programs. Funding for these scholarships is provided by the medical staffs at Waukesha Memorial Hospital and Oconomowoc Memorial Hospital and Waukesha Memorial Hospital Volunteer Services. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study in an eligible field, at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the ProHealth Care and Diversity Scholarship Program must be:

  • High school seniors or graduates of any Waukesha County (WI) high school,
    OR
    current employees of ProHealth Care,
    OR
    dependent children of current employees of ProHealth Care,
    OR
    current Waukesha County (WI) residents
  • Planning to enroll or are already enrolled in a full-time undergraduate course of study in an eligible field of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school. Current employees of ProHealth Care may enroll part-time

Students pursuing a pre-medical degree are not eligible for this program.

*Eligible fields of study include:

  • Anethesia Technology
  • Cardiovascular Technology
  • Interventional Technology
  • Medical Technologist/Medical Lab Tech
  • Medical Sonography
  • Nursing – BSN or AND
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Pharmacist
  • Physical Therapy
  • Physician Assistant
  • Radiation Therapy
  • Respiratory Therapist
  • Speech Language Pathology
  • Surgical Technology (including Surgical Assistant)

Awards:

  • Up to nine (9) ProHealth Care awards of $2,000 each
  • One (1) Waukesha Memorial Hospital Volunteer award of $1,000
  • Two (2) Diversity awards of $4,000 each

Qualified, diverse applicants will be considered for both scholarships, but may be awarded only one scholarship.

Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Financial need will be considered. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate financial need after all other criteria have been considered.

Awards are for undergraduate study only (except Pharmacist and Physical Therapy fields of study).

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • academic record
  • demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • honors
  • work experience
  • statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • unusual personal or family circumstances
  • an online recommendation

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of ProHealth Care play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in late June. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of ProHealth Care. Awards will be paid in one installment in August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following documents:

  • Current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, and term in which each course was taken.

    NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than May 24, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.

Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
