Trane Technician of the Future Scholarship Program

Trane Technologies Company LLC has established a scholarship program to assist students who plan to pursue HVAC (Heating, ventilation, and Air Conditioning) degree or certification or building automation technician technology related degree or certification in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Trane Technician of the Future Scholarship must:

  • Reside in an eligible region in the U.S. or Canada. Students residing in Montana, Delaware, and Wyoming are ineligible.
  • Be high school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates, who plan to enroll in a part-time or full-time HVAC** degree or certification program*** or building automation technology related degree or certification program*** at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the upcoming academic year (beginning fall of 2022).
  • **Controlled ventilation is an eligible field of study.
  • ***Certification programs must be through an accredited institution, must run on a standard academic semester calendar and must be a minimum of one semester in length.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award for part-time enrollment and $4,000 for full-time enrollment. If enrollment status changes, award amounts will be adjusted accordingly. Students must be enrolled at the time of award disbursement.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Award payments will be issued in U.S. currency. Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in June.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship finalists are selected on the basis of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of long-term career and educational goals and objectives, a statement of unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation.

Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.

Selection of finalists is made by Scholarship America, and recipients are selected by Trane Technologies Company LLC. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Trane Technologies Company LLC. Payment is made in August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken. NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload an official copy of those test scores separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 4, 2022 3:00 pm.
