Deadline to apply: January 17, 2020 3:00 pm CT

Applicants must meet all all of the following criteria:

  • Be high school seniors taking or having completed an advanced placement computer science course or test.
  • Be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Plan to enroll as a fulltime undergraduate student at an accredited four-year college or university in a computer science, software engineering, computer engineering or other computer related field of study.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).

The program deadline to submit your application is 3:00 p.m. Central Time on January 17, 2020.

Self-taught applicants who are also taking or have completed an advanced placement computer science course or test are eligible to apply.

Applicants must upload the following documents:

  1. Current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, and term in which each course was taken.
  2. Copy of the first two pages of the most recently filed IRS Form 1040 used for the Financial Information Page.

As part of your application, one online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf.

Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.

An online recommendation is required to be submitted on your behalf. It is preferred that the recommendation is completed by an AP computer science teacher, but not required.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $10,000 award. Up to an estimated 100 awards will be granted. Awards are renewable for up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first.

Applicants will be notified by mid-April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
