Agricultural Education Scholarship

Foremost Farms USA has established a scholarship program to assist children of Foremost Farms USA members or members who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs pursuing a career in agriculture.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants of the Agricultural Education Scholarship award must:

  • Be high school seniors who are children of Foremost Farms USA members and who are selling milk at the time of application and payment of awards, or
  • Be college students who are members or children of Foremost Farms USA members and who are selling milk at the time of application and payment of awards.

Applicants must plan to enroll or already be enrolled at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in a full-time undergraduate course of study or short course program in agriculture with plans to pursue a career in agriculture.

Award Information:

  • Up to seven (7) awards of $3,000 will be granted.
  • Awards are one-time only and not renewable.
  • Awards are for undergraduate study only.
  • Payment of awards is made after receipt of a first quarter or first semester grade report. Recipients of a scholarship must use the money before June 1 of the current academic year or forfeit it.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • academic record
  • demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • work experience
  • statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • involvement in dairy farm operations
  • an online recommendation

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Foremost Farms USA play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in February. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Foremost Farms USA.  Awards will be paid in one installment after receipt of a first quarter or first semester grade report.

As part of your application, you must upload the following documents:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display:
    • Student name
    • School name
    • Grades
    • Credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than January 14, 2025 3:00 pm Central Time.
