The Albert Pick, Jr. Fund Law Student Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

logoThe Albert Pick, Jr. Fund Law Student Scholarship Program, sponsored by The Albert Pick, Jr. Fund, has been established to assist a first-year or second-year law student who is a long-term resident of Chicago studying at one of the selected law schools in the Chicago area. One scholarship is offered each year for full-time study at one of the selected law schools.

Founded in 1947, The Albert Pick, Jr. Fund is an independent foundation managed by a dedicated board and committed to the personal philosophy of its founders Corinne and Albert Pick, Jr. – to offer a hand when help is needed.

At his death in 1977, Mr. Pick’s bequest endowed the Fund and appointed its first board. In more recent years, the Fund has committed itself to further social justice and racial equity and has focused on community needs and underrepresented populations in the City of Chicago. The Fund has earned a reputation as a fair-minded and flexible grant maker responsive to the issues of the day and accessible to emergent nonprofits.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.  Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age,  gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to The Albert Pick, Jr. Fund Law Student Scholarship Program must:

  • Have been residents of Chicago for 2 or more years

    • DePaul University College of Law
    • Illinois Institute of Technology, Chicago Kent College of Law

    • John Marshall College of Law

If selected as the recipient, the student will receive an award of $5,000. Financial need is considered, and the recipient must demonstrate financial need.
