The Alliant Energy Children of Employees Scholarship Program has been created to identify children of Alliant Energy employees who have achieved excellent records in high school and to provide financial assistance to those students as they pursue higher education.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to the actual or perceived race, religion, national origin, ancestry, disability, age, gender, or sexual orientation of any applicant.
Applicants to the Alliant Energy Children of Employees Scholarship Program must meet ALL of the following criteria:
Dependent children of company officers, vice presidents, and directors are not eligible.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $1,500 award. Up to twenty-five (25) awards will be granted.
Awards are not renewable, and are limited to one per family per year.
Federal service academy applicants are eligible to apply. Applicants attending U.S. Service academies if chosen as a recipient will receive a one-time $1,500 award.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of educational and career goals, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation. Financial need is not considered.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Alliant Energy play a part in the selection. Decisions are final and are not subject to appeal. The program is competitive; not all applicants will be selected as recipients.
Applicants will be notified in April.
