To encourage innovation and creative problem solving, Alliant Energy offers a scholarship program for students pursuing a career in business, applied sciences, technology, engineering and math fields upon graduation.
The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to the actual or perceived race, religion, national origin, ancestry, disability, gender, or sexual orientation of any applicant.
Applicants to the Alliant Energy Innovation Scholarship Program must meet ALL of the following criteria:
Employees of Alliant Energy Corporation, Scholarship America, their subsidiaries, affiliates, advertising and promotion agencies and the immediate family (spouses, parents, children or siblings and their spouses) and persons living in the same household of such employees who are employed at the time of application are not eligible to apply for this scholarship.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $1,000 award. Up to twenty-five (25) awards will be granted.
Awards are one-time only and are not renewable.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of those pursuing careers in business, STEM (applied sciences, technology, engineering and math) majors, participation in a leadership role in community service activities and volunteer service work, academic grade point average, standardized test scores and the content of a 350-word essay. Financial need is not considered.
Recipients are selected by Scholarship America. All information received is considered confidential. In no instance does any officer or employee of Alliant Energy play a part in the selection. Decisions are final and are not subject to appeal. The program is competitive; not all applicants will be selected as recipients.
Applicants will be notified in late March.
