The Amazon Future Engineer scholarship program assists high school seniors who have completed an advanced placement computer science course, or who have taken an advanced placement computer science test and plan to continue their education at an accredited four-year college or university majoring in computer science, software engineering, computer engineering or other computer related field of study. Winners of the award receive $10,000 per year at an accredited four-year college or university as well as a paid summer internship at Amazon after their freshman year of college.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Awards
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $10,000 award. Up to an estimated 100 awards will be granted. Awards are renewable for up to three years or until a bachelors degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon the applicant continuing full-time enrollment in an eligible course of study at an accredited four-year college or university, maintaining a 3.0 or better GPA and continuation of the program by Amazon Corporate LLC.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, short answer responses, unusual personal or family circumstances, financial need, racial/ethnic/gender diversity, and an educator appraisal, preferred to be completed by an AP computer science teacher.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Amazon Corporate LLC play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Notification
Applicants will be notified by mid-April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Amazon Corporate LLC. Payments are made in equal installments in early August and mid-December.
Obligations
Recipients have no obligation to Amazon Corporate LLC. They are, however, required to notify Scholarship America of any changes in address, school enrollment, or other relevant information, and to send a complete official transcript when requested.
Revisions
Amazon Corporate LLC reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.
