The Amcor Scholarship Program offers financial assistance for college or vocational school to children of permanent, full-time employees of Amcor or any of its domestic and Puerto Rican subsidiaries.
The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.
Applicants to the Amcor Scholarship Program must be:
**Children of Amcor executive officers are not eligible for this program.
**Current Bemis Company Scholarship recipients are not eligible to apply to the Amcor Scholarship Program.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Awards for recipients attending a two- or four-year college or university may be renewed for an additional three years or until a bachelor’s degree is awarded, whichever occurs first. Awards for recipients attending vocational-technical schools may be renewed once and for one additional year should the course of study require it. Recipients graduating from a vocational-technical program and transferring to a four-year college or university must reapply to the program if they continue to meet the eligibility requirements of the program. Renewal is contingent upon maintaining satisfactory academic performance in a full-time undergraduate course of study.
Students attending community/junior colleges and vocational-technical schools will be evaluated in a separate pool. Recipients attending military service academies will receive an award for their first year only. Their awards are not renewable.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal.
Once recipients are selected, financial data is reviewed to determine the amount of each award, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Scholarship recipients who do not demonstrate financial need or whose parents choose not to supply the requested financial information will be eligible to receive a minimum award only.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America based on the funds available from the Amcor Foundation. In no instance does any officer or employee of Amcor play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Applicants will be notified in late March. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Payment of Scholarships
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Amcor Foundation. Payments are made in equal installments in early August and in mid-December.
