The Amcor Scholarship Program offers financial assistance for college or vocational school to children of permanent, full-time employees of Amcor Flexibles North America (including Canada and Puerto Rico) or U.S. Corporate employees co-located within AFNA.
The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.
It is important that the student register for a Scholarship America Hub account, and complete the student profile and application using their information, including their email address.
Applicants to the Amcor Scholarship Program must be:
**Children of Amcor executive officers are not eligible for this program.
Awards
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Awards for recipients attending a two- or four-year college or university may be renewed for an additional three years or until a bachelor’s degree is awarded, whichever occurs first. Awards for recipients attending vocational-technical schools may be renewed once and for one additional year should the course of study require it. Recipients graduating from a vocational-technical program and transferring to a four-year college or university must reapply to the program if they continue to meet the eligibility requirements of the program. Renewal is contingent upon maintaining satisfactory academic performance in a full-time undergraduate course of study.
Students attending community/junior colleges and vocational-technical schools will be evaluated in a separate pool.
Students graduating and receiving a diploma or certificate at their community/junior college or vocational-technical school will be considered to be attending a vocational-technical school. (Please choose this school option within your application.) Students receiving an associate’s degree at their community/junior college or vocational-technical school will be considered to be attending a community/junior college. (Please choose this school option within your application.)
Recipients attending military service academies will receive an award for their first year only. Their awards are not renewable.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Selection of Recipients
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
Once recipients are selected, financial data is reviewed to determine the amount of each award, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000. Scholarship recipients who do not demonstrate financial need or whose parents choose not to supply the requested financial information will be eligible to receive a minimum award only.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America based on the funds available from the Amcor Cares Foundation. In no instance does any officer or employee of Amcor play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Notification
Applicants will be notified in early April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
