The AmerisourceBergen Foundation Scholarship Program

AmerisourceBergen Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist associates’ children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational-technical school. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice within the United States or Canada.

This program is administered by Scholarship America┬«, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to The AmerisourceBergen Foundation Scholarship Program must:

  • Be dependent* children of regular full-time or part-time AmerisourceBergen associates who have a minimum of six (6) months of employment with the company as of the application deadline.
    *Dependent children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children living in the associate’s household or primarily supported by the associate.
  • Be high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational technical school within the United States or Canada for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent) if attending a four-year college or university.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent) if attending a two-year college or vocational-technical school.

Children of officers are ineligible to apply.

Award Amounts

Four (4) awards of $10,000 each will be granted to recipients attending a traditional four-year college or university; and four (4) awards of $5,000 will be granted to recipients attending a community college or vocational-technical school.

Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year for four consecutive years as long as they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic information, leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal.

Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in early March.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of AmerisourceBergen Foundation. Payments are made in one installment in mid July.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document(s):

  1. A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grade and credit hours, and term in which the course was taken.
  2. A copy of the first two pages of the associate’s most recently filed tax return that was used to complete the Financial Information section.

Your application is not considered complete unless all required documents are submitted electronically.
