Banner Health Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist RN employees of an Arizona Region Banner Health Facility who plan to continue their education in a nursing related degree granting program.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.
Up to nine (9) awards will be granted. Eight (8) awards will be $2,000 each; and one (1) award, named The Excellence Award will be $3,000.
Awards are one time only. Past recipients may not reapply.
Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study only.
Applicants will be notified in July. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students not selected as recipients may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Banner Health. Payments are made in one installment in September.
Financial need is not considered.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Banner Health Center for Health Careers play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
Banner’s Values define the culture of Banner and how these values are demonstrated through actions and behaviors. The first value “Customer Obsessed” puts the needs of the customer first by demonstrating empathy and compassion to those we serve. Please submit an essay (500-800 words) on the question, “Providing superior care means also providing small touches to make patients and their loved ones feel cared for. Please describe a time when you have personally gone above and beyond for the people you serve. Do you believe that small actions contribute to positive change on a larger scale? Give support for your answer with examples from your own life”. Applicants must allow Scholarship America to release the essay to Banner Health.
Your application is not complete unless all required documents are submitted through the Scholarship America Student Hub.
