Araneo Tax & Financial has established a scholarship program to United States Military veterans or their spouses who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Araneo Tax & Financial Veterans Scholarship Fund must:

  • Be an honorably discharged veteran or spouse of an honorably disabled veteran who has served in the United States Military, including the Reserves and National Guard, and have received a certificate of eligibility from the Department of Veterans Affairs or another document of service.
  • Plan to use any military education benefits for which they are eligible for the upcoming academic year.
  • Be a high school graduate or GED graduate or current college undergraduate.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time or half-time at an accredited two- or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Be pursuing their first associate, bachelor’s or graduate degree.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent.
  • Be eligible to receive federal student aid.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances

Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Araneo Tax & Financial play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Funds raised will determine the number of awards. The award is not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in July.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Araneo Tax & Financial. Payment is made in August.
