ArcBest has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.
Applicants to the ArcBest Employee Dependent Scholarship Program must:
Dependent children of Directors, Vice Presidents, and above are ineligible.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,000 USD award. Up to ten awards will be granted. No more than 25% of eligible applicants will be selected as recipients.
Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance (minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale) in a full-time course of study (completion of at least 24 semester hours during the immediately preceding academic year) and continuation of the program by ArcBest.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
All applicants will be notified in early April.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of ArcBest. Payment is made in early August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:
Academic evaluation will include a review of the grade/mark average based on the grading system used in the applicant’s country and a review of the results of academic examinations.
Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of ArcBest play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
As part of your application, you must upload the following:
NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.
