Arrow Memorial Scholarship Program

Arrow Electronics, Inc. has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college.

This program is administered by Scholarship America┬«, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants of the Arrow Memorial Scholarship Program must:

  • Children or stepchildren, 25 years or younger, of an active employee of Arrow Electronics, Inc. in the U.S. or Canada with two or more years of service by the application deadline date.
  • A high school senior or high school graduate planning to enroll or a student already enrolled in full-time study leading to a Bachelor’s Degree at an accredited college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.
    Students beginning their studies at a two-year community college who plan to transfer to a four-year school are eligible to apply.

Children and stepchildren of General Managers, Directors, Vice Presidents and above and equivalent roles are not eligible to apply.

Award information:

  • If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $2,000 to $5,000.
  • Up to eight (8) awards will be granted each year.
  • Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
  • Only one new award is granted per family in any given year.
  • Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

Applicants will be notified by late April. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Arrow Electronics, Inc. Payments are made in equal installments on August 1 and December 15.

Recipient’s parent must be actively employed at Arrow Electronics, Inc. at the time scholarship payments are issued.

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Honors
  • Work experience
  • Statement of career and educational goals and aspirations
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Once scholarship recipients are selected, financial data is reviewed to determine the amount of each award, ranging from $2,000 to $5,000.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Arrow Electronics, Inc. play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:

  • Current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Unofficial or online transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course, and term in which each course was taken

Also as part of your application, one online recommendation must be completed on your behalf by 3:00 p.m. CT on March 3, 2020.
