The ASM Global Stars Scholarship Program reflects the commitment to providing diverse and under-resourced communities with educational and career development opportunities through scholarship awards and prospective internships. This year, the program is awarding $2,500 scholarships for up to 100 students who share their passion for connecting people through the power of live experience. The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the ASM Global Stars Scholarship Program must:

  • Self-identify as one or more of the following:
    • Female (any race/ethnicity)
    • Black or African American
    • American Indian or Alaska Native
    • Hispanic or Latino
    • Asian
    • Native Hawaiian or other Pacific Islander
  • Be high school seniors or graduates, or current undergraduate students residing in the United States
  • Plan to enroll in part-time or full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university, or vocational-technical school, for the entire upcoming academic year
  • Be pursuing a degree in one of the following areas of study (or similar):
    • Business/International Business (Marketing, Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Human Resources)
    • Hospitality/Entertainment/Sports Management
    • Communications/Public Relations/Digital Media
    • Information Technology
    • Graphic Design
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent)
  • Reside* within 25 miles of one of the following cities:

*This includes permanent residents or students attending college or vocational-technical school in these cities for the upcoming academic year.

Employees of ASM Global, ASM Global Acts Foundation, or their affiliates, and children of those employees, are not eligible.

Awards

The authorized distribution for new awards is up to $250,000. Up to one hundred (100) awards of $2,500 each will be granted.

  • Two (2) awards of $2,500 each, will be granted to students who reside or attend a school in Kent County, Michigan.
  • Two (2) awards of $2,500 each, will be granted to students who reside within 25 miles of New Orleans, LA

If qualified applications are received, preference will be given to minority applicants

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Recipients may also be offered internship opportunities at ASM Global corporate offices or one of its many venues.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in mid-May.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of ASM Global Acts Foundation. Payment is made in mid-August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.

If qualified applications are received, preference will be given to applicants who are first-generation college students.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of ASM Global Acts Foundation play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  • A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.

NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than March 28, 2024 3:00 pm Central Time.
