AstraZeneca has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the AstraZeneca Citizens’ Foundation Scholarship Program must:
A minimum of one student will be chosen who has a grade point average no higher than 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or its equivalent).
Children of AstraZeneca or MedImmune Vice Presidents or above are not eligible for the program. Students who have received an AstraZeneca National Merit Scholarship are not eligible.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $3,000 award. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic progress and continued parental employment. A parent must be employed by AstraZeneca or MedImmune at the time awards are paid.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of AstraZeneca play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
All applicants will be notified in May.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of AstraZeneca. Payment is made in August.
