The ASUS, Inc. Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

American States Utility Services, Inc. and its wholly-owned Subsidiaries (ASUS, Inc.) has established a scholarship program to assist dependent children of active, full-time U.S. Military members and dependent children of honorably discharged veterans at ASUS-served locations who are current high school seniors, graduates or current undergraduates planning to continue their education in college or vocational school programs in the fields of environmental science, technology, environmental engineering, biology, chemistry, medical sciences, mathematical sciences, business management or acquisition and contract management. Renewable scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

The program is administered by Scholarship America, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to The ASUS, Inc. Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children of active, full-time U.S. Military members at ASUS-served locations who work 32 hours or more per week and have at least one (1) year of service by the application deadline date.

Dependent* children of honorably discharged U.S. Military veterans living within ASUS-served locations.
*Dependent children include unmarried, natural or legally adopted children, stepchildren, and any other children for whom the military member has been appointed legal guardian.

**Full-time study is defined as carrying a minimum of twelve (12) credits for the entire upcoming academic year.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Up to nine (9) awards will be granted each year. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance (maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale) in a full-time course of study, continued parental employment if parent is active military member, and continuation of the program by ASUS, Inc.
