Atlas Air Employee Dependent Scholarship

Atlas Air Worldwide has established a scholarship program to assist children of U.S.-based Atlas Air, Polar and Titan (collectively the “Company”) employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability, national origin or any other status protected by applicable law.

Applicants to the Atlas Air Employee Dependent Scholarship must:

  • Be age 26 and under;
  • Be dependent* children of full-time Atlas Air, Polar and Titan U.S.-based employees, who have a minimum of one-year employment with the Company as of the application deadline date and who remain active through the date in which scholarship awards are made, in August 2022;
    *Dependent child (including step-children or adopted or parental ward) of full-time employee.
  • and

  • Be high school seniors or graduates, or current college undergraduates or plan to enroll in part-time or full-time undergraduate study at an accredited two- or four-year college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $3,000 award. Up to 10 awards will be granted.

Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in June.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Company. Payment is made in early August.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, community service/volunteering, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals and objectives, an online recommendation and a custom essay*.

Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of the Company play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

*Essay Topics: (choose one, 500 words)

  1. Atlas is a company that cares for the world it carries. How have you cared for the world around you? (i.e. support of the environment, charitable contributions or local community involvement).
  2. If you are looking to pursue a career in aviation, who or what has inspired you?
  3. What are you looking to accomplish in your academic endeavors?

As part of your application, you must upload the following:

  1. A current, complete transcript of grades. Grade reports are not accepted. Transcripts must display student name, school name, grades and credit hours for each course and term in which each course was taken.
  2. NOTE: If you are providing SAT or ACT test scores, and those scores are not listed on your high school transcript, you will need to upload a copy of your test score report(s) separately. If you are uploading a college transcript, those scores are not required.

  3. Essay on one of the following topics: (500 words)
    1. Atlas is a company that cares for the world it carries. How have you cared for the world around you? (i.e. support of the environment, charitable contributions or local community involvement).
    2. If you are looking to pursue a career in aviation, who or what has inspired you?
    3. What are you looking to accomplish in your academic endeavors?
  4. One online recommendation form must be submitted on your behalf no later than May 3, 2022 3:00 pm Central Time.
