Avery Dennison US Scholars Program
Application status: Closed

Avery Dennison Foundation has established a scholarship program to recognize and encourage the academic achievements, accomplishments and talents of the children of Company employees and to assist them in obtaining an education in college or vocational school programs.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Avery Dennison US Scholars Program must be:

  • Children* (natural, legally adopted or stepchildren), age 23 and under, of current full-time Avery Dennison employees who have a minimum of one year of employment as of the application deadline.
*Children of retired employees are eligible provided the employee was employed full-time at the time of retirement.
*Children of Avery Dennison officers are not eligible to apply.
  • Current high school seniors or undergraduates who are planning to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university or vocational-technical school in the United States or Canada for the entire upcoming academic year.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive $2,000.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards are for undergraduate study only.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of:

  • Academic record
  • Demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities
  • Work experience
  • A statement of educational and career goals and objectives
  • Unusual personal or family circumstances
  • An online recommendation

Financial need, as calculated by Scholarship America, must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award.

An essay will be required with the application but will not be used in the selection process. The essay will be shared with Avery Dennison Foundation.

Recipients will be selected to represent a cross section of Avery Dennison employees both geographically and employee levels (i.e. hourly and salaried).

Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Avery Dennison play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

All applicants will be notified in early May via the same email used in the original application.

Payment of Scholarships

Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of the Avery Dennison Foundation. Payment is made in August.

As part of your application, you must upload the following document:
