Financial need will be considered. Recipients must demonstrate need.
Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Axalta Coating Systems, LLC play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
An effort will be made to select recipients who represent the diversity of the applicant pool based on self-reported race/ethnicity and gender.
Assuming there are qualified applicants, preference will be given to first generation college students.
Bachelor’s and graduate degrees
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $5,000 award. Up to 16 awards will be granted. Awards are renewable up to one year or until a bachelor’s or graduate degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance and continued eligibility (including pursuit of a degree in an eligible field at an eligible school). Awards may transfer from a bachelor’s to a graduate degree if the recipient enrolls in graduate study the upcoming academic year.
Vocational-technical degrees
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Up to 16 awards will be granted. Awards are renewable up to one year or until a technical degree is earned, whichever occurs first, on the basis of satisfactory academic performance and continued eligibility (including pursuit of a decree in an eligible field at an eligible school).
If a recipient transfers from an eligible two-year vo-tech program to a four-year or vice versa, their award amount will be adjusted accordingly.
Recipients may be offered internship and/or career opportunities with Axalta.
All applicants will be notified by early July.
