Arizona Trucking Association Foundation has established a scholarship program to assist member employees’ children and grandchildren who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the Arizona Trucking Association Foundation Scholarship Program must:
**Employees of AZ Trucking Association Member companies may attend part-time (six credits per term or the equivalent). Children or grandchildren must attend full-time (12 credits per term or the equivalent).
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $500 to $3,000. Awards are not renewable, however students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Preference in the selection process will be given to applicants enrolled or planning to enroll in a field of study including business administration, diesel, truck body or truck mechanics.
All applicants will be notified in July.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of AZ Trucking Association Foundation. Payment is made in August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation.
Financial need must be demonstrated for the student to receive an award. Financial need will be calculated based on information provided by the parent(s) who claims the applicant as a federal income tax exemption. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
