Bank of the West has established a scholarship program to assist children of employees who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Rodney Peck was elected to Bank of the West’s Board of Directors in 1990 and served for over 30 years until his retirement 2021. This scholarship was founded to honor Director Peck’s long-standing service and many contributions to the Board and to Bank of the West.
The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.
Applicants to the Rodney Peck Scholarship Program must:
Children of Bank of the West employees with a work title of SVP/Director or higher are ineligible.
If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Up to one award will be granted. The award is one–time only.
The award is for undergraduate study only.
All applicants will be notified in July.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Bank of the West. Payment is made in August.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals and objectives, and unusual personal or family circumstances.
Financial need is not considered. Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Bank of the West play a part in the selection. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
