Bridgestone APM Scholarship Program
Deadline to apply: February 12, 2021 3:00 pm CT

Bridgestone APM Company has established a scholarship program to assist Bridgestone APM employees’ children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.

This scholarship program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.

Applicants to the Bridgestone APM Scholarship Program must:

  • Be dependent* children, ages 17 to 24, of full-time Bridgetone APM employees who have a minimum of three (3) years of employment with the company as of the application deadline.
*Dependent children are defined as biological, step- or legally adopted children living in the employee’s household or primarily supported by the employee.
  • Be high school seniors or graduates, or current postsecondary undergraduates or graduate level students, who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school (domestic or abroad) for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent).

Children of former associates who have left the company due to termination or voluntary exit are not eligible to apply.

Children of Senior Staff are not eligible to participate in this program.

Awards

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $1,000 award. Up to five (5) awards will be granted each year. Awards are not renewable; however, students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Selection of Recipients

Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. Financial need is not considered.

Selection of recipients is made by Scholarship America. In no instance does any officer or employee of Bridgestone APM Company play a part in the selection. All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.

Notification

Applicants will be notified in late March. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students not selected as recipients may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
