Dear Barnes Employee,

We are happy to announce that we are currently accepting applications for our Barnes Group Foundation Scholarship Program! The Barnes Group Foundation Scholarship Program is designed to assist the children of Barnes employees who plan to pursue post-secondary education by enrolling in college or a technical vocational program. The program is open to all worldwide employees, and scholarships will be awarded for graduate study as well as undergraduate.

In accordance with United States tax laws, we are limited to granting awards to only 25% of our eligible applicants. Remember, the more applicants we receive, the more scholarships we can grant, so please apply today! Even if you have previously applied and did not receive a scholarship, we encourage you to apply again, as you are still eligible to receive an award!

We invite you to review the guidelines found below and submit an application today!

Thomas Hook                  Thomas Barnes

*Eligible children are defined as, age 30 or under.
1Active employees must have been employed by the company six months as of the application deadline date.
2Children of an employee who died while actively employed are eligible, provided that the employee had at least five years of service at date of death, and that the child applies for a scholarship within five years of the employee’s death.
  • Students who plan to enroll in full-time* undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, vocational-technical or graduate school for the entire upcoming academic year.

If selected as a recipient, the student will receive an award ranging from $3,000 to $10,000. Undergraduate awards are renewable up to three years or until a bachelor’s degree, or equivalent is earned, whichever occurs first. Graduate awards are renewable one time or until graduate degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon maintaining at least a 2.5 grade point average on a 4.0 scale in full-time study and continuation of the program by Barnes Group Foundation, Inc. Students who received an undergraduate award must reapply for a graduate award and may receive an award for a maximum of six years.

International students are strongly encouraged to apply. Awards can be used for education related expenses (tuition, fees, books, supplies, room/board and transportation).

Additionally, Scholarship America will select three to five (3-5) recipients who have a GPA of 2.5 – 3.0 as long as there are qualified applicants.

All applicants agree to accept the decision as final.
