BASF Scholarship Program
Deadline to apply: February 28, 2021 3:00 pm CT

The BASF Scholarship Program recognizes and rewards academically talented children of BASF Corporation employees. The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest administrator of scholarships, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals – in collaboration with National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). Awards are granted based on academic success and demonstrated achievement, and without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the BASF Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children of active full-time employees of BASF or BASF AgroProducts de Puerto Rico who are benefits-eligible.
  • High school seniors who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • United States citizens, permanent United States residents or persons who have applied for permanent residence and intend to become U.S. citizens.
  • Eligible students must complete high school and enroll in college as a full-time student in the year in which they apply for the scholarship.

Students are eligible to receive only one scholarship award (either through the program administered by Scholarship America or National Merit).

(*Dependent children are defined as biological, stepchildren or legally adopted children living in the employee’s household, or primarily supported by the employee, or granted court-assigned guardianship or custody and for whom the employee provides primary financial support.)

Recipients receive a $2,000 award, which may be renewed for up to an additional three years, or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first.

Awards are granted to National Merit Finalists named by National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) and students demonstrating academic performance, demonstrated leadership and school and community participation, work experience, career and educational aspirations and goals, unusual personal or family circumstances and an online recommendation.

Annual renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance in full-time study and continuation of the program by BASF Corporation.
