Selection of Recipients

Scholarship America will evaluate applications based upon academic performance, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances and an online recommendation. Up to twelve (12) finalists will be selected for review by the Foundation selection committee.

The Foundation selection committee will select eight recipients from the pool of finalists based upon the applicant’s response to the “Leadership Proposal” essay portion of the application and a personal interview. Finalists will be contacted directly by the Foundation to schedule the personal interview. Consideration will be given to finalists who demonstrate the greatest need.

The undergraduate award will utilize standard Scholarship America recipient selection procedures including the consideration of past academic performance and future potential, leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, statement of career and educational aspirations and goals, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation.

Financial need will be considered. Recipients will be selected from a pool of qualified applicants with consideration given to those who demonstrate the greatest need.

All applicants agree to accept the decisions as final.

Notification
Applicants will be notified in early May. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients.
