Bergey’s, Inc. has established the Norman L Bergey Scholarship Program to assist employees’ children who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs. Scholarships are offered each year for full-time study at an accredited institution of the student’s choice.
This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations and individuals. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, gender, disability or national origin.
Applicants to the Norman L Bergey Scholarship Program must be:
Children of shareholders of Bergey’s are not eligible for the program.
Awards ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 will be granted based on the date the application is received by Scholarship America with preference given to applicants who have not previously been selected as a recipient of the program.
Up to 20 eligible applicants will receive an award. The amount of each award will vary based on the number of applications received. Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Awards are for undergraduate study only.
Applicable payroll tax withholdings will apply.
Scholarship America processes scholarship payments on behalf of Payments are made in one installment in early August.
Applicants will be notified in April. Up to 20 eligible applicants will be selected as recipients. All applicants agree to accept the decisions as final. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
Recipients have no obligation to Bergey’s, Inc. They are, however, required to notify Scholarship America of any changes in address, school enrollment, or other relevant information
Bergey’s Inc. reserves the right to review the conditions and procedures of this scholarship program and to make changes at any time including termination of the program.
Interested students must complete the application and mail it to Scholarship America postmarked no later than February 15, 2021. Applicants will receive an email acknowledging receipt of their application. If an email is not received within three weeks, applicants may call Scholarship America to verify that their application has been received.
Applicants are responsible for gathering and submitting all necessary information. Incomplete applications will not be evaluated. All information received is considered confidential and is reviewed only by Scholarship America.

Applicants must print the page(s) of the application containing the Applicant Appraisal and Transcript Information sections (if part of the application) and submit to the appropriate individuals for completion (if applicable). These sections cannot be completed electronically.
Mail the completed application form (including the completed Appraisal and Transcript sections if part of the application, and any other required documents) to Scholarship America by the program’s application postmark deadline: February 14, 2020. The mailing address is on the application form.
