Dorothy M. Bitters Memorial Scholarship Program
Application status: Closed

PNC Trustee of the Dorothy M. Bitters Memorial Scholarship has established a scholarship program to assist high school seniors or graduates of Titusville Area High School who plan to continue their education in college or graduate school.

The program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarship, tuition assistance, and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team. Awards for this scholarship are granted to eligible recipients without regard to creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, disability, or national origin.

Applicants to the Dorothy M. Bitters Memorial Scholarship Program must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Be high school seniors or graduates of Titusville Area High School in Titusville, PA.
  • Plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited four-year college or university for the entire upcoming academic year.

Children of the Dorothy M. Bitters family and PNC Bank N.A. employees are ineligible.

Up to fifteen (15) new awards will be granted based upon the required minimum distribution of the trust.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.

Awards may be used for tuition, related educational fees, and required books only. Room and board is not an eligible expense for this award.

Awards are for undergraduate or graduate study.

Selection of Finalists and Recipients

Scholarship America will select twenty (20) finalists based upon the student’s academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, work experience, a statement of educational and career goals and objectives, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an online recommendation.

Financial need will be considered. Finalists must demonstrate need.

From the pool of finalists, the Sponsor Committee will select approximately fifteen (15) recipients. Recipients must demonstrate financial need.

All applicants agree to accept the decisions as final.

All applicants will be notified in July.
