Application status: Closed

Blount Fine Foods has established a scholarship program to assist employees’ children and grandchildren who plan to continue their education in college or vocational school programs.

This program is administered by Scholarship America®, the nation’s largest designer and manager of scholarships and other education support programs for corporations, foundations, associations, and individuals. Eligibility for individual programs is determined at the sole discretion of the sponsor, and eligible applications are reviewed by Scholarship America’s evaluation team.

Applicants to the Blount Fine Foods Scholarship Program must be:

  • Dependent* children and grandchildren**, age 26 and under, of full-time Blount Fine Foods employees who have a minimum of six (6) months of employment with the company as of the application deadline.
*Dependent children refers to natural or legally adopted children, stepchildren, or legal wards of the employee who qualify for benefits provided by the company.
** Grandchildren do not need to be dependents of employees.
  • High school seniors, high school graduates, current undergraduates, or graduate students who plan to enroll or students who are already enrolled in full-time undergraduate or graduate study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school for the entire upcoming academic year.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale (or the equivalent). Students enrolled in a four-year or graduate program with a 2.75 or higher may be eligible to receive one of up to three special awards.

Children and grandchildren of owners are ineligible to apply.

Children and grandchildren of executives (President, Executive Vice President, Senior Vice President, and Vice President) are ineligible to apply.

An award of $10,000 will be granted to one (1) of the top-ranking applicants with a 3.0 GPA or higher (or equivalent) enrolled in a four-year or graduate program. Up to two (2) of the top-ranking applicants with 2.75 GPA or higher (or equivalent) enrolled in a four-year or graduate program will be granted awards of $5,000 each. Awards of $2,000 each will be granted to up to 15 recipients. Award amounts may vary based on number of applicants received.

Awards are not renewable, but students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements. Their parent, grandparent or guardian must be actively employed at the time of application.

Awards are for undergraduate and graduate study.

Applicants will be notified in late May. Not all applicants to the program will be selected as recipients. Students may reapply to the program each year they meet eligibility requirements.
